Aim of ayurvedha is to restore the healthy state of a person by preventing the apperence of disease and to cure the disease.
Kayachikitsa is the first branch of astanga ayurveda that deals with general medicine where kaya means “body” and chikitsa means “treatment”.
Kaya also refers to digestive fire (agni). Correction of agni is the basic line of treatment for most of the disease. The principle of kayachikitsa is to correct agni ,dosha, dhatu and to detoxify body thus help to cure general disease.
Another unquie aspect of kayachikitsa is rasayana (rejuvenation) and vajikarana (aphrodisiac). Rasayana chikitsa is useful for promotion of health and curing, enhances the sexual vigour and useful to procreate a ideal progeny it deals with therapeutic approach to the disease either through shodhana (purification) shamana (pacification) and satvavajaya (couselling) this application are done through medications ,behavioral, psychological, lifestyle management. Pharmacological interventional is through various forms of medicine like vati( tablet) kashaya( decoction) choorna( powder) bhasma asava arista ghritam guggulu etc.
